Qwizdom is helping teachers to create a truly interactive classroom with a new package featuring SynaptiQs curriculum resources, the Q7 RF Presenter Tablet – the first tablet PC to be integrated with a response system and Actionpoint Suite software. Qwizdom’s audience response system, used by 6500 schools worldwide, is suitable for all subjects and encourages whole-class participation. By answering questions anonymously as a class, even shy pupils enjoy joining in. Visitors to Stand H40 can talk to a teacher about their experience of Qwizdom and enter a prize draw to win a kit for their school.

The SynaptiQs curriculum resources software, written by teachers, are graphically and media rich and contain concise learning objectives outlined for each lesson. The content addresses the demands for personalised learning, whilst offering the teacher a tool for interactive classroom-based learning. Designed to work with or without Qwizdom's Student Response system, teachers can engage pupils with pre-made lessons and create customised questions at the touch of a button, saving valuable preparation and marking time. SynaptiQs records each pupil’s response, keeping a record of pre and post lesson assessments, and measures the learning gain by group or individual.

The Q7 RF Presenter Tablet is a lightweight, rechargeable tablet, which allows teachers to wirelessly draw, annotate and interact with students simultaneously, without being tethered to a workstation. The tablet is the most affordable and feature-rich on the market, the only one with its own screen and a great cost-effective alternative to interactive whiteboards. The Q7 has the same basic functionalities of an interactive whiteboard, plus additional features that allow it to be used as a student response system. Now teachers can pose or answer questions and view students’ responses and requests for help on the tablet’s LCD screen while delivering lessons.

Teachers can opt to use the Q7 by itself or with a student response system, while students can respond using Q7s or one of Qwizdom’s other remotes. The small, lightweight Q2 RF remote uses advanced two-way radio frequency technology, allowing it to work almost anywhere and can be customised to encompass a school’s logo and colours. It also utilises new innovative display technology called E-ink, which requires minimal power to display an image. This ensures that batteries last longer, reducing replacement costs. Raised buttons, which include embossed Braille, make this handset SEN friendly. The Q4 RF remote features an ergonomically designed, easy-to-use, alpha-numeric keyboard ideal for numeric, multiple-choice, multiple mark, true/false, yes/no, rating scale and sequencing questions.

Actionpoint Suite (now available in ten different languages*) encompasses Adobe Flash-based games to encourage healthy classroom competition. The diverse reporting tools help teachers identify patterns of ability from their pupils’ test results. It seamlessly integrates into Microsoft PowerPoint, allowing teachers to assess their pupils’ knowledge via tests, quizzes and games.

Gary Morrison, Sales and Marketing Director of Qwizdom UK, comments: “There is a need to provide a holistic interactive classroom so that students can participate actively in the learning process. The new Q7 Presenter Tablet puts the functionality of an interactive whiteboard into the hands of teachers, giving them mobility to roam in the classroom and attend to each child individually whilst maintaining control of the class. SynaptiQs helps teachers to introduce, deliver and finish lessons in a dynamic and fun way through eye-catching and informative slides, which ultimately helps to raise achievement levels.”

Qwizdom is compatible with interactive whiteboards and can be used independently, as well as on laptops. This compatibility has received positive feedback from schools as teachers are not required to master new whiteboard software to use the system.
