Cambridge-based assistive technology specialist, iansyst Ltd, and its partners on the Home Access Programme, XMA, are celebrating after scooping the ‘Working Together Award’ at the Technology4Good awards which took place on Tuesday 7th June. The awards, organised by AbilityNet and BT at the BT Centre, in St. Paul’s, London, acknowledge the work of a range of charities and businesses that help people to improve their lives through technologies.

iansyst, whose work helps those with disabilities, including Dyslexia, Dyscalculia and Visual Impairments, through a range of products and services, partnered with XMA, who have been  supplying IT products, services and solutions to the public and private sector for over 20 years, to deliver the Home Access Programme. The two companies built on an existing relationship to start the programme which supplied over 9,000 children with learning difficulties the technologies required for them to access the internet from their homes.

The organisers attributed the win to iansyst and XMA’s ability to successfully complete the contract within the timeframe and effectively manage the delivery of over 9,000 bespoke computer systems

Janine King, Managing Director of iansyst Ltd, explains what winning the award means to them: “We are delighted to have won the Working Together Award, which gives national recognition to the extensive work and collaboration that went into successfully delivering the Home Access scheme.  Our shared vision to make a difference allowed us to overcome challenges and to efficiently complete this complex contract within a very short timeframe.

“We are proud to have helped over 9,000 children with learning difficulties or special needs get online, and it is testament to our partnership that the positive results achieved through the Home Access programme have been acknowledged.”

Ash Merchant, Director of Government and Social Affairs at XMA echoes this sentiment: “XMA is delighted to have won the Working Together award for our partnership on the Home Access scheme with iansyst. It was a huge challenge, but something we felt strongly about being a driving force behind. The project benefited from the in-house expertise at XMA, alongside our service capabilities coupled with ianyst’s product supply chain.

“The stories of children who are now benefiting from being connected to the online world are truly inspiring. For some of these youngsters, having access to the internet has transformed their whole outlook on life. For the team at XMA, that’s the real reward.”
